CHELSEA AFTER THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2015/2016 PREMIERSHIP SEASON

The blues after 8 matches are languishing at the 16th position on the log. The second half of the table has been a place of abode for the Londoners for the past eight matches. This team ironically is the defending champions and with Mourinho at the helm of affairs no one would have predicted such an abysmal performance. Their wins this season have come under some controversial circumstances. They beat a nine man Arsenal and also a ten man West Bromwich Albion. Football fans are now making mockery of Chelsea and are that, they can’t beat an 11 man team.
Their defeat over the weekend was the height of their woeful start and the ‘special one’ came in a defiant mood after the game. Mourinho said should he be sacked, the best manager in the world and the best Chelsea manager ever have left their club. He came out also criticizing the referee and also said they are not bold enough to make decisions in favor of his team.  The coach looks out of options but this is the ‘special one’ we’re talking about. This might probably be the first time he has been faced with such an uphill task. We all lay in wait to see whether Jose can turn things around or walk away.
The players seem worked out. It looks like their energy were sapped from them last season as they dispatched teams off most at times last season. That notwithstanding, these very players have performed below par. They have been below their best. The phrase ‘gone past Ivanovich’ is almost a cliché just at weeks into the league. John Terry is just past his best, Fabregas looks a pale shadow of himself; Eden Hazard is off the pace and looks very different from the PFA player gong he took last season. The whole set up look luck luster and who else than the ‘special one’ to take them out of this abyss.
The club has pledged their support for Jose Mourinho and as expected standing behind their manager. Will the international break be the panacea to their resurgence to the summit where for the past decade they’ve been? Or are we going to still be witnesses to their regression.
This is the Chelsea we knew before the oil money was pumped into the club. But have done relatively well ever since then. Rivals may be wishing for a continuous free fall. There’s no one better than the ‘special one’ to turn things around for Chelsea and time will tell. It’s just a two week break and we are hoping and can’t wait for the league to resume. It’s been all joy for their rivals but all gloom and sullenness on the faces of the entire fraternity of Chelsea football club.
