LIVING THE LEICESTER DREAM

LIVING MORE THAN A DREAM
So many a times we do imagine a beautiful flawless life, where everything is at our disposal. We issue commands and there is an instant response to it. A life which was least expected by the lot; because the budget being fed on is very insignificant compared to our fellow competitors. Also, the resources at our disposal are insignificantly incomparable to our competitors. And again because our competitors command a certain respect and aura they have built over decades which we don’t have. A following (supporters) which runs across the globe whereas we can boast of the city we’re in.
Never before the beginning of the season did the connoisseurs of the game imagine such a team would come this far. When the 2015/2016 league was about three months old; the book makers still stood by their favorites to annex the league come May 2016. We are four months away from ending the league and the pundits and all stake holders are still in a quandary as to who will come out victorious in May 2016. Some have tipped the league to be a four horse race whereas others still believe is a three horse race. We’ll find the accurate answer come May.
Southampton FC who were the surprise league leaders for some time last season faded away by this time last season. They had players who could challenge the normal big wigs and to some extent the wherewithal but couldn’t stand the test of time and slipped below even the top four and only had a place in the Europa league. Leicester could prove to step up and make the top four and would be worthy achievers if they do maintain such a streak.
THE LEICESTER DREAM
If you are a Leicester City fan you can’t help it but just enjoy this unbelievable ecstasy while it lasts.
To the surprise of most footballing fanatics including myself, never at the beginning of the season did I predict such a season. My article before the start of the season talked about players to watch out this season. Believe it or not and in all sincerity, if I were to write about 30 players to watch, Leicester City wouldn’t have had a player in it. Glaringly, we can all attest to the fact that Leicester by far has more than 4 players to watch if it were the start of the season. Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy, Danny Drinkwater, Kasper Schmeichel, Shinji Okazaki, Robert Huth, Wes Morgan and other players would stake a claim in the best palyer of the season come May when the league is over. The chemistry of the team is superb and the players are working for each other.
The tinker man Claudio Ranieri needs to be commended for the consistency and fine displays his team has shown throughout this season. He has shown beyond all reasonable doubts that he has the acumen and the necessary requirement to succeed as a coach. He has blossomed with his Leicester squad and he deserves the plaudits he is receiving from all angles.
I am tempted to say not even the chief executive anticipated such a delectable rise in fortunes on the field for Leicester City not to think of the fans. The task given the tinker man I believe was to keep them safe in the premier league and subsequently to the first half of the log. Palpably, Leicester City is gaining more than they asked for.
It must be noted that, structures and plans even if were put in place for such unforeseen contingencies and also even if there were no such plans, they have adjusted very well to the situation. Leicester City has well accepted and embraced an unusual situation by making of the cuff plans to suit the current state of the club. The entire club must be commended and motivated to keep on with such performances. Leicester City has very well risen to such an occasion and is enjoying their current state.
Inasmuch as this was a dream every person associated with Leicester would have had some years back, they are living more than the dream now and they can’t be begrudged.
